Mack's Legacy
The one who started it all

Matthews formally known as Matthews Garage was established back in 1963 as a tractor repair shop by Mack Matthews. In 1965, the wrecker service was added utilizing just one small wrecker. Over the years, several other wreckers were added to the fleet. In 1973, “Mack’s” youngest son, Ricky Matthews, joined the business. In 1991, “Mack” retired and passed the business on to his son, Ricky. More employees were added and more wreckers were added. In 1993, Ricky’s son, Jeremy Matthews, joined the family business. At first Jeremy was just a mechanic in the car shop. In 1994, Jeremy started driving a wrecker for the business. In 1996, Matthews’ Garage added a NRC slider to their fleet known as “The General”. In between adding wreckers to their fleet, Matthews’ Garage added a truck shop and a body shop with a paint booth.  With the addition of the two shops Matthews was able to start assembling its very own trucks. In the middle of such a big turning point for the company, Matthews Garage suffered a great loss at the end of 2003. The originator of Matthews’ Garage,”Mack”Matthews, passed away on Dec. 29th, 2003. The following year, three trucks were built at the shop and added to our fleet all in dedication to Mack “The one who started it all”. With every addition to the fleet, you can find a spot on it where it is dedicated to Mack and his legacy. Matthews has come a long way from just being a Tractor Repair Shop.

In 2011, Ricky’s daughter Chantell joined the family business and assisted in office where she works full time now. Matthews began purchasing road tractors, landolls, and flatbed trailers in 2013. To this day these units still run everyday. The following year in 2014, Matthews purchased a new and bigger rotator. The rotator gained the named “The Final Solution”.

In 2019, Jeremy began expanding the business in many ways. Matthews purchased many of roll off cans and trucks and is now able to offer over 100 cans for commercial and residential use. Matthews is proud to offer the following services; Towing & Recovery, Trucking, Crane Service, Equipment Hauling, Roll Off Dumpsters, Body Shop, and Sales.

In 2020, Jeremy’s son, Wilson Matthews joined the family business, got his CDL and now works as a full time driver/operator for the company. With Wilson joining the business Matthews has entered into its fourth generation, wow!

In 2023, Matthews was able to bring home another rotator. This rotator gained the name “Miller Killer”. The “Miller Killer” is a NRC CRS 85 ton. Matthews is now home to over 47 trucks with 4 being wreckers, 27 trailers, and 70 employees. Mack’s legacy lives on thanks to the hard work of his family and everyone else that has helped carry on his tradition. As Matthews continues to grow and prosper we will alway dedicate it to Mack Matthews, The one that started it all.
